How to type Nüshu: an English-to-Chinese example

Establish the Chinese wording

Translate “Nüshu input method” into Chinese: 女书输入法. English words are not pinyin. A translation tool can help establish Chinese wording; this site does not automatically translate English into Nüshu.

Obtain pinyin and keys

女书输入法 → nǚ shū shū rù fǎ → nv, shu, shu, ru, fa. Omit tones and use v for ü. Review names and multiple readings in the pinyin tool.

Select candidates one by one

Activate 女书·普通话拼音 and Nüshu output. Type nv for 女, shu for 书, shu for 输, ru for 入 and fa for 法, choosing each intended candidate. 书 and 输 share shu but need separate selections. Type the keys instead of pasting a complete pinyin string.

Mapping limits

Pinned mappings: 女→𛆁; 书→𛈬; 输→𛊼 / 𛈬; 入→𛇈 / 𛇄 / 𛅱; 法→𛊡. These are references, not fixed candidate ordering. This modern term is a typing demonstration, not a verified traditional translation. Mandarin keys do not describe Jiangyong pronunciation.
